Diamond Plate

Diamond plate is made of sheets of metal with a pattern of raised diamond shapes or raised lines on them mostly made out of steel. The diamond plate is also referred to as tread plates or checker plates. The diamonds are usually rolled into the steel although there are other way of fabrication nowadays like pressing the pattern into the material.
The most used materials for making a diamond plate are steel wether or not stainless and aluminum.

Diamond plate can be used for a great list of purposes. Some less known then others:
- Creating a sturdy non slip underground on stairs and catwalks in factory like environments and garages
- Car interiors, lots of ambulances and pickup trucks are fitted with diamond plates
- diamond plate is used for protection of walls against bumping and scratching from cars of forlifts
- decorative usage in all kinds of matters. Bars and discos often have diamond plate in their interior.
- wheelchair ramps are often made with diamond plate
- finishing of furniture with diamond plate
- protection of the wall behind a stove with diamond plate

Diamondplate – varations:

- one diamond or groups of two or 5 diamonds
- Size and shape (longer and wider patterns are possible to suit your needs)
- pattern can differ. teardrop shape, ricegrain shape, checkered, zigzag, ellips
- with bumps between the diamonds for extra grip
- flattened diamonds with anti slip ribs
- diamond plate partly rolled with patterns (often used for a more decorative purpose)
- diamond plate in various colors, even with a holographic look
- shiny or matte
- variations in thickness from 1,5 tot 8 mm
- variations in size
- perforated diamonds

Diamond plate – Disadvantages:

- diamond plate is not really easy to clean
- diamond plate can be slippery when wet or greasy
- be carefull not to cut yourself on the edges, always sand them down when you use diamond plates in your house
